Job summary

Hataitai School is seeking an experienced Learning Support Coordinator to strengthen inclusive learning across our full primary. You will know ākonga well, collaborate with teachers, whānau and specialists, and help shape timely, practical support.

Working with teachers, leaders and external agencies, you will coordinate learning plans, interventions, and resources, ensuring culturally responsive partnerships and smooth transitions for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Hold current New Zealand teacher registration and certification.
• Experience supporting neurodiverse learners and diverse learning needs.
• Familiarity with IEPs, ORS, RTLB and Ministry learning support processes would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• support early identification and ongoing assessment of learning needs

• work alongside teachers to strengthen inclusive classroom practice
• coordinate targeted interventions and monitor their impact
• support the effective allocation of learning support resources

Hataitai School is looking for an experienced, inclusive and collaborative educator to join our team as our Learning Support Coordinator (LSC).

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and strengthen learning support across our full primary school. We are looking for someone who understands that effective learning support begins with knowing our ākonga, recognising their strengths and needs, and working alongside teachers, whānau and specialists.

Our values of Mana, Manaaki and Ako underpin the way we learn, work and connect. Our LSC will help us develop a coherent, responsive and inclusive approach to learning support across our kura.

Working closely with teachers, teacher aides, school leaders, whānau and external agencies, you will help ensure ākonga with diverse and additional learning needs receive timely, practical and well-coordinated support.

You will:

• holds current New Zealand teacher registration and certification
• has experience supporting neurodivergent ākonga and diverse learning needs
• understands inclusive education, assessment, evidence-informed interventions and Universal Design for Learning
• builds positive relationships and communicates effectively
• is culturally responsive and committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• is organised, takes initiative and demonstrates our values of Mana, Manaaki and Ako.

Experience with IEPs, ORS, RTLB and Ministry learning support processes would be an advantage.

This is a permanent, 0.6 FTTE position (3 days per week). Specific days can be discussed with the successful applicant.
