We are seeking an experienced, highly relational educator to join Redwoodtown School as our permanent, part-time (0.6) Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) from the beginning of 2027.There is an opportunity to extend this role to full-time through additional ORS, release teaching or targeted Literacy/Maths teaching roles.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new role within our school and make a meaningful difference for learners, whānau and staff.
Our LSC will work across the school to strengthen inclusive practice, identify learning support needs early, coordinate appropriate support and build the capability of teachers and learning assistants. The role will also involve working closely with whānau, school leadership, Ministry of Education teams, RTLB and other specialist services.
We are looking for someone who is warm, approachable, organised and collaborative, with strong professional judgement and a genuine commitment to ensuring every learner can belong, participate, progress and experience success.
The successful applicant will be a registered teacher with a current practising certificate and have experience supporting learners with additional learning needs. Strong communication skills, culturally responsive practice, and the ability to build positive relationships and confidently advocate for learners will be essential. These expectations align with the national LSC role, which emphasises teacher capability, whānau partnership, coordinated support and school-wide influence.
