Job summary

Hynds Masterton is seeking a hands-on front-counter and yard team member to support customers across civil and water sectors. You’ll quote, take orders, sort queries, and help load trucks, keeping stock tidy and safe.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you’ll become a product expert, stand at the counter, stock yard, and assist with admin and invoicing. A positive, practical approach and willingness to learn will help you thrive in a busy, referral-focused role.

Qualifications

• Front-counter customer service and yard experience.
• A full NZ Driver's Licence and a Forklift Licence (F endorsement) preferred.
• Confident to chat with anyone and solve problems on the fly.
• Solid computer skills and good stock management.
• Physical fitness to move product up to 20kg.
• Product knowledge is a bonus; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Being the go-to at the front counter - advice, quotes, orders.
• Running the yard - stock control, picking, counts, tidy and safe.
• Loading/unloading trucks - help customers load (hand or forklift).
• Getting the admin right - invoicing, receipting, credits, daily paperwork.
• Product knowledge - become a genuine expert to solve problems early.
