Job summary

Hynds Pipe Systems Limited in Palmerston North seeks an all‑round Yard & Customer Service specialist who can balance counter duties with yard work. You will be the engine room of the branch, keeping the yard safe, stocked, and tidy, and serving civil and drainage customers with practical, on‑the‑spot support.

You will split your day between orders, stock control, forklift operation, and customer service at the front desk.

Qualifications

• Dual capability in front counter and yard operations.
• Full NZ Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence required.
• Strong people skills and practical yard knowledge.
• Good stock control and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Split duties between front counter and yard and stay switched on for both.
• Manage yard stock, pick orders, cycle counts, keep area tidy.
• Operate forklift safely, perform daily checks and report defects.
• Load/unload trucks and help customers with loading.
• Process quotes, orders, and on-spot queries.
• Keep paperwork accurate: dockets, invoicing, receipting, goods‑in.
• Lead health & safety and secure site after hours.
