Job summary

The Salvation Army Bridge Programme in New Zealand is seeking motivated Residential Support workers for predominantly night and weekend shifts. You will provide a safe, supportive environment for clients in residential housing, uphold the mission and ethos, and maintain confidentiality and dignity of individuals.

Experience in addiction or mental health settings is preferred; National Certificate in Mental Health Support Work Level 4 is encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Experience in support work in addiction or mental health settings.
  • Willing to undertake National Certificate in Mental Health Support Work Level 4.
  • Ability to work with Maori and Pacific peoples; full/clean driver’s license required.

Job description

The Salvation Army Bridge Centres exists to provide safe, integrated, high-quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. Our services are evidenced based best practice and are known for being people-centred, caring, transformative and responsive.

The Salvation Army Bridge Programme currently has vacancies for suitably qualified and experienced Residential Support workers. Some versatility will be required in terms of the variable hours, but they are for predominantly nighttime hours including weekend nights.

The applicant should have experience in support work in an addiction or mental health setting and/or hold or be willing to undertake the National Certificate in Mental Health Support Work Level 4.

The ability to work in a culturally appropriate and safe manner with Maori and Pacific peoples is essential as is a full / clean driver's license.

The starting salary for this role will fall between $29.90 and $30.97 per hour
