Job summary

The Salvation Army – Christchurch is seeking a dedicated individual to support residents in the Bridge Addiction residential programme. You will assist with life skills, relationships and daily activities as part of the recovery journey.

Applicants should have lived experience of addictions, a valid NZ driver’s licence to drive a van, and be prepared to work towards a Level 4 Health and Wellbeing certificate. This is a permanent full-time role with a competitive starting hourly rate.

Qualifications

  • Lived experience of addictions to apply for this role.
  • Full NZ driver's licence and able to drive a van.
  • Moderate ability with IT systems.
  • Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent (or be prepared to work towards it).

Responsibilities

  • Support Bridge Addiction residential programme by helping clients improve life skills, relationships and daily activities as part of their recovery.

The Salvation Army Bridge Centre exists to provide safe, integrated, high-quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. About the Role:

To apply you will have lived experience of addictions in alcohol and/or other drugs to apply for this role.

You will join a passionate and caring team that support people accessing our Bridge Addiction residential programme by assisting them to improve life skills, relationships, and daily activities as part of their recovery.

Our ideal candidate will have:
  • A passion for helping others through their mental health / addiction journey.
  • A non-judgmental attitude
  • Full NZ driver's licence and able to drive a van.
  • A moderate ability withuse IT systems.
  • Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent (or be prepared to work towards it).

Hours of work:

This is a permanent full time role, 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

The starting hourly rate for this role will be/or fall between 29.90 and 30.97 depending on qualification
