Job summary

The Salvation Army – Christchurch, New Zealand is seeking a dedicated supervisor to lead the Bridge Services team. You will oversee peer support delivery, supervise Christchurch Peer Support Workers and participate in the Bridge Management Team to ensure compassionate, evidence-based care.

Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, with a starting salary in the range of $80,721 to $87,977 gross per annum. The role requires a Level 4 Mental Health and Addiction Certificate and prior leadership

Qualifications

  • Level 4 Mental Health and Addiction Certificate is required.
  • Experience supervising others is required.
  • Previous leadership experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support Peer Service Delivery locally, and oversee all aspects of service delivery.
  • Line manage Christchurch Peer Support Workers through initial orientation, ongoing support and regular well-being and development conversations.
  • Participate in the functions of the Christchurch Bridge Management Team.
  • To provide a supportive and safe environment for clients.
  • Uphold The Salvation Army's Mission and Christian ethos.
  • Value and respect the individuality, dignity and privacy of each client of the Bridge Programme.
  • Preserve confidentiality of clients' personal information.
  • Maintain good communication with clients, family/whanau, and other team members.
  • Committed to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi as they apply to The Salvation Army Bridge Programme.
  • Clients receive care without discrimination on the basis of race, culture, health, sexual orientation or age.

The Salvation Army Bridge Services provide a range of effective support services in both residential and community based settings that use a range of evidence-based holistic approaches to reduce the physical, psyiological and social harm that can result from the use of alcohol and other drugs.

The Bridge welcomes diversity and is inclusive of culture, age, disability, sexuality and gender identity and we are also committed to supporting people who experience co-exisiting mental health challenges and take a kaupapa whanau (working with other services) approach in working together to suppport the well-being of our tangata whai ora (clients).

Our services encourage participation in the development and practical application of skills where people are supported to set their own goals and recovery plan in order to reduce the harmful effects of alcohol and or other drugs.

  • Level 4 Mental Health and Addiction Certificate
