Job summary

The Salvation Army Bridge Centre in Christchurch is seeking a dedicated person to support residents on the Bridge Addiction residential programme. You will help clients improve life skills, relationships, and daily activities as part of their recovery in a compassionate, person-centred environment.

Ideal candidates will have lived experience with addictions, a non-judgmental attitude, a full NZ driver’s licence, basic IT skills, and may work towards a Level 4 Health & Wellbeing certificate.

Qualifications

• A passion for helping others on the mental health/addictions journey.
• A non-judgmental attitude.
• Full NZ driver’s licence and ability to drive a van.
• Moderate ability with IT systems.
• Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent (or willingness to work towards it).

Responsibilities

• Support residents in the Bridge Addiction programme to improve life skills, relationships and daily activities as part of recovery.
• Join a caring team that assists people accessing our programme.
• Promote safe, integrated, high‑quality treatment aligned with best practices.

Job description

The Salvation Army Bridge Centre exists to provide safe, integrated, high-quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. Our services are evidenced based best practice and are known for being people-centred, caring, transformative and responsive.

About the Role:

To apply you will have lived experience of addictions in alcohol and/or other drugs to apply for this role.

You will join a passionate and caring team that support people accessing our Bridge Addiction residential programme by assisting them to improve life skills, relationships, and daily activities as part of their recovery.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• A passion for helping others through their mental health / addiction journey.
• A non-judgmental attitude
• Full NZ driver's licence and able to drive a van.
• A moderate ability withuse IT systems.
• Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent (or be prepared to work towards it).

Hours of work:

This is a permanent full time role, 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

The starting hourly rate for this role will be/or fall between $29.90 and $30.97 depending on qualification
