Job summary

Summerset Holdings in Trentham, New Zealand, is seeking a caring casual Caregiver to help residents maintain a safe, healthy and enjoyable lifestyle. You will work as part of a team, delivering meals, supporting hygiene and personal care, and promoting activities and wellbeing.

Successful candidates will have aged care experience, strong communication, and flexibility to cover a variety of shifts, including short notice availability. Applications close on 2 December 2026.

Job Description:

As a Caregiver at our Trentham village you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a Casual role. Working on an as and when needed basis

Qualifications:

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Commitmentto being available for a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice
