Job summary

Summerset is seeking a Caregiver for our St Johns village in Auckland, New Zealand. You will join a team delivering personal care and supporting residents in daily activities, meals, hygiene, and mobility as part of creating a safe and enjoyable lifestyle.

The role is casual, working on an as-needed basis with shifts that may be short notice. You will be empathetic, patient and capable of building lasting relationships with residents and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or a similar role.
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.
• Commitment to being available for a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes.
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering.
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises.
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc.

Job Description:

As a Caregiver at our St Johns village, you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a Casual role. Working on an as and when needed basis.

Qualifications:

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:
