Job summary

Summerset is hiring a Caregiver to join the Trentham village team in Wellington, NZ. The role focuses on providing personal care and supporting residents in daily living, as part of a caring, team-based environment.

You will deliver meals, assist with hygiene, and support residents through activities and exercise, contributing to a safe, healthy, and enjoyable lifestyle for our residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Commitment to being available for a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice

Responsibilities

• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

As a Caregiver at our Trentham village you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a Casual role. Working on an as and when needed basis

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.
