Job summary

Summerset Mountain View Village in New Plymouth is seeking a casual Caregiver to join a team dedicated to delivering safe, healthy, and enjoyable living for residents. The role focuses on personal care, meals, hygiene, and assisting with activities to enhance daily life.

The position is casual and on an as-needed basis, requiring empathy, reliability, and the ability to work across various shifts to meet resident needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or similar role.
• Strong verbal communication and relationship-building.
• Commitment to available shifts, sometimes on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals and assist with mealtimes.
• Assist with hygiene and daily living activities.
• Support individual care plans, including walks and exercises.
• Help with activities and social engagement.

Job Description

As a casual Caregiver at our Summerset Mountain View Village you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident's daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a Casual role. Working on an as and when needed basis

Qualifications

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people's lives.

You'll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Commitmentto being available for a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice
