Job summary

Summerset - Care in Nelson is hiring a Caregiver to join a team dedicated to providing safe, healthy and enjoyable living for residents. The role focuses on personal care, daily living assistance and companionship with residents in a village setting.

Casual, as-needed shifts with short-notice availability are offered, including weekend premium rates. Uniforms are provided and opportunities to progress through qualification pathways are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or similar role.
• Strong verbal communication skills to build lasting relationships.
• Commitment to being available for various shifts, sometimes on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals and assist with mealtimes.
• Assist with hygiene and daily personal care.

Job Description

As a Caregiver at our Nelson village you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a casual role working on an as and when needed basis with shifts offered at short notice.

Qualifications

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Commitmentto being available for a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice
