Job summary

New Zealand Avis Rent A Car Limited in Queenstown, Otago, is seeking a Branch Supervisor to support the Branch Manager. You will oversee daily operations, supervise the team, process rental transactions, and ensure vehicles are groomed and ready for service.

You will train and coach colleagues, handle customer concerns, assist with shift scheduling and reporting, and promote a positive customer experience across 7 days.

Qualifications

• Management or leadership experience is preferred, with a track record of coaching and developing team members.
• Ability to solve problems and exercise good judgement in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience handling customer complaints and negotiating outcomes.
• Strong planning, organisation and multitasking skills; able to learn new systems quickly.
• Current and Full NZ Driver's Licence is required.

Ready for that next step in your career? As Branch Supervisor, you will assist the Branch Manager with supervision of all operational functions.

About the Role

You will ensure our customers have a positive experience by providing a superior level of customer service processing rental transactions, and ensuring we have vehicles groomed and ready for service at our counters. Further to the above you will coordinate the daily activities of the team and where needed, train, coach and direct the team in their duties. Noncompliance with established policies and procedures must be reported to management. You will also assist Manager with preparing shift schedules and reports.

Working Hours and Schedule

As we operate 7 days a week, you will have a set roster working 40-hours per week (5 x 8-hour shifts) during our operating hours (Monday to Sunday 8 am - 6.30 pm) that will include one weekend day per week (either Saturday or Sunday) including public holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous managerial and/or leadership experience with proven experience in coaching and developing team members, delivering feedback, and managing performance of team members (highly advantageous but not essential).
• Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement, problem solve and show initiative.
• Experience in complaints handling, conflict resolution and negotiation.
• Possesses competent planning and organisation skills and can multitask.
• Ability to competently use Microsoft office suite and learn new systems and software quickly and efficiently.
• Current and Full NZ Drivers Licence.
