Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Greymouth is seeking a Branch Supervisor to lead our rental counter team and deliver exceptional customer service at Greymouth Railway Station.

You will supervise daily operations, train staff, handle bookings, inspect vehicles and ensure policy compliance while aiming to exceed customer expectations.

This hands-on leadership role requires rostering, coaching, and ensuring a high standard of safety and service. The position involves a 40-hour week with weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to coach and develop team members.
• Experience in handling complaints, conflict resolution and negotiation.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Current and Full NZ Drivers Licence.

Job description

About the Role

In this role you are the face of our brand! You will interact with our customers at the rental counter, complete rental bookings and respond to general customer inquiries. You will ensure our customers have a positive experience by providing a superior level of customer service.

You will also make sure we have groomed vehicles ready for service at our counters; this means you will be required to inspect cars for damages, refuel and assist with the cleaning of our vehicles both interior and exterior to ensure our customers get the best experience.

Further to the above you will coordinate the daily activities of the team and where needed, train, coach and direct the team in their duties. Ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures and assisting the Branch Manager with preparing shift schedules and reports.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Previous managerial and/or leadership experience with proven experience in coaching and developing team members, delivering feedback, and managing performance of team members (highly advantageous but not essential).
• Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement, problem solve and show initiative.
• Experience in complaints handling, conflict resolution and negotiation.
• Possesses competent planning and organisation skills and can multitask.
• Ability to competently use Microsoft office suite and learn new systems and software quickly and efficiently.
• Current and Full NZ Drivers Licence.

As we operate 7 days a week, you will have a set roster working 40-hours per week (5 x 8-hour shifts) during our operating hours (Monday to Sunday 8 am - 6.30 pm) that will include one weekend day per week (either Saturday or Sunday) including public holidays.
