What you'll be doing

No two days in the studio are quite the same. Your work will include:

  • managing calendars, appointments and day-to-day administration

  • communicating professionally with clients, suppliers and other organisations

  • organising digital records and project files

  • preparing and formatting documents

  • assisting with project administration, travel arrangements and purchasing

  • helping maintain our social media and other communications

  • supporting meetings, staff activities and studio events

  • keeping office supplies, records and routine operational tasks organised

  • helping the Director and team stay on top of priorities.

You won't be expected to be a conservator or have a heritage background. We're looking for someone who is lives and breathes administration.

Who we're looking for

You'll probably enjoy this role if you're the person who notices what needs doing, keeps track of the details and gets satisfaction from making things run well.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • highly organised and reliable

  • confident working independently and taking initiative

  • comfortable juggling several small priorities

  • an excellent written and verbal communicator

  • confident with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

  • comfortable learning new digital systems

  • professional and discreet when handling confidential information

  • detail-focused, practical and willing to pitch in when needed.

Previous administration, office management, executive support or similar experience would be valuable.

Why this role?

This isn't a conventional office environment. You'll be working alongside a small team of heritage professionals in a working conservation studio, with projects involving everything from artworks and historic objects to archaeological material and taonga.

It offers interesting, varied work without requiring a full-time commitment. For the right person, it could be an excellent opportunity to bring established administration skills into a very different environment.
