Office Administrator
We are seeking an organised and proactive Office Administrator to become the central hub of a busy business. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will play a key part in keeping the office running smoothly, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the wider team across a range of administrative functions.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in being organised, and wants to make a genuine contribution to a successful local business. You will work closely with the leadership team and have the chance to take ownership of important administrative, bookkeeping, HR, and health and safety support functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day to day office administration and business records
- Process and maintain financial transactions, invoices, and expenses accurately
- Maintain financial records and general ledgers
- Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare financial reports for management review
- Manage accounts payable activities
- Maintain organised physical and digital filing systems
- Support health and safety administration, including maintaining incident and hazard records
- Assist with HR administration, including employee records, leave management, and onboarding documentation
- Liaise with external accountants and provide documentation for audits and compliance requirements
- Coordinate office purchasing and supplies
- Provide general administrative support across the business as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in administration, office management, bookkeeping, or a similar role
- Strong working knowledge of Xero
- Experience with accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
- A professional and confidential approach when handling sensitive information
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support the wider team
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or trade based environment
- Exposure to payroll, HR administration, or health and safety administration
- Accounting, bookkeeping, or business administration qualifications, or equivalent experience
