Job summary

Unicorn Hospitality Services is hiring a Housekeeping Manager for Numa Rotterdam Coolsingel. You will lead daily housekeeping operations on site, drive quality, train and develop Team Leaders, and manage recruitment and client relationships to ensure guest satisfaction.

This full-time role requires hands-on leadership and responsibility for payroll cost and performance on location, with daily presence in operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as Assistant Housekeeping Manager in a hotel or serviced apartment.
• Proven experience leading and developing housekeeping teams.
• Strong understanding of operations, quality control, and productivity management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Experience managing housekeeping contracts and client relationships.

We are looking for an ambitious and driven Housekeeping Manager to join our Unicorn team.

About The Role

As a Housekeeping Manager, you will oversee and support housekeeping operations at Numa Rotterdam Coolsingel. You will be responsible for maintaining high quality standards, managing team performance, supporting recruitment and training initiatives, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. You are the main person on location managing the client relationship, the payroll cost and the efficiency of the housekeeping performance. You will work closely with hotel management, Team Leaders, and housekeeping staff to drive operational success and guest satisfaction. You are a hands-on manager, you love checking rooms and you lead from the front by being in the operations every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate daily housekeeping operations.
• Supervise the housekeeping staff to ensure service excellence.
• Support Team Leaders with operational questions.
• Conduct regular quality inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Monitor cleanliness standards and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Responsible for the workforce planning, scheduling, and staffing requirements.
• Ensure all rooms are completed and available according to operational deadlines.
• Train, coach, and develop Team Leaders and housekeeping employees.
• Responsible for the recruitment, onboarding, and employee retention initiatives.
• Monitor productivity, quality scores, guest feedback, and operational performance.
• Investigate and resolve guest complaints and service issues professionally.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and company procedures.
• Prepare operational reports and communicate performance updates to management.
• Foster a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Full ownership of the location as it would be your own business.

About You

• Minimum 3 year of experience as a Assistant Housekeeping Manager in a hotel or serviced apartment environment.
• Proven experience leading and developing housekeeping teams.
• Strong understanding of housekeeping operations, quality control, and productivity management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage the property as the main responsible manager.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Professional and guest-focused mindset.
• Flexible and willing to work weekends and public holidays when required.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Experience with managing a Housekeeping contract and a client relationships as contractor
