MRPORTER, a refined dining destination in Amsterdam, seeks a Head Hostess to elevate the front‑of‑house team. You’ll set the tone for the evening, welcome guests with warmth, and guide them through dining options to ensure a memorable first impression.

You will lead the hostess team, manage reservations, coordinate with the restaurant, bar and kitchen, maintain presentation standards at the host station, and ensure exceptional guest experiences for every visit.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory front‑of‑house role (fine‑dining, upscale restaurant, or high‑end hospitality).
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a big plus.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Confident multitasker with an upbeat, positive attitude.
• High organizational standards, attention to detail.
• Availability to flexibly work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests with charm and genuine hospitality.
• Manage waitlist, reservations, and table flow to ensure smooth seating.
• Upsell and promote specials, events, and private dining options.
• Lead, inspire, coach, and mentor the hostess team.
• Schedule, coordinate, and communicate daily shifts and service needs.
• Monitor and support consistent standards for guest service.
• Oversee front desk, telephone, and online reservation systems.
• Coordinate closely with restaurant, bar, and kitchen teams for guest flow.
• Handle guest inquiries, feedback, or escalations with composure and care.
• Maintain presentation standards for host station, menus, and facilities.
• Generate daily reports: reservation summaries, attendance logs, guest feedback.
• Assist in optimizing reservation policies and front-of-house procedures.
