Responsibilities

• Serve as the highest technical authority in Control Systems/SCADA and Grid Integration.
• Define engineering philosophies, standards, and system architectures.
• Review and approve critical designs and engineering decisions.
• Lead evaluation of new technologies and engineering methodologies.
• Develop automation tools, templates, and digital engineering initiatives.

Job description

We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Control Systems / SCADA & Grid Integration to provide expert technical leadership across the organisation. The role will drive engineering standards, system architecture, technical governance, complex troubleshooting, and grid compliance, while leading technology innovation, engineering digitalisation, and continuous improvement. The SME will also play a key role in developing technical capabilities through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

Technical Authority

• Serve as the company's highest technical authority in Control Systems / SCADA and Grid Integration.
• Define engineering philosophies, technical standards, and system architectures.
• Review and approve critical technical designs and engineering decisions.
• Lead research and evaluation of new technologies, products, OEM solutions, and engineering methodologies.
• Develop engineering automation tools, reusable engineering templates, and digital engineering initiatives.

Complex Technical Support

• Lead technical investigations involving critical system failures, grid compliance issues, and customer escalations.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical consultancy.
• Own and continuously improve engineering standards, technical specifications, engineering libraries, and best practices.
• Lead technical audits and engineering quality reviews.

Organizational Capability Development

• Develop competency frameworks and technical certification programs.
• Conduct technical interviews, mentorship, and advanced technical training.
• Drive organizational technical capability and succession planning.

Strategic Improvement

• Drive engineering standardization, automation, digitalization, and continuous improvement initiatives in line with company goals and company's core values.

Expected Candidate Profile

• Education & Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent; PE/Ir., Project Management, or relevant professional certifications are advantageous.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 10 years' progressive experience in power system automation, renewable energy integration, SCADA, PPC, EMS, and Grid Code compliance.
• Technical Expertise: Expert knowledge of SCADA, PPC, EMS, RTU, industrial automation, communication networks, and power systems.
• Protocols & System Engineering: Strong expertise in IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA, networking, cybersecurity, system architecture, and system studies.
• Technical Leadership: Proven track record in leading major technical projects, engineering governance, technical risk assessment, innovation, and technical thought leadership.
• Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Strong capabilities in strategic thinking, coaching and mentoring, executive communication, influencing without direct authority, industry networking, and OEM relationship management.
