Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics, Automation, Instrumentation or related field.
• Relevant experience in industrial automation and system integration.
• Strong hands-on experience with VSD and PLC integration is essential.
• Knowledge of VSD configuration, troubleshooting, commissioning and motor control.
• Experience with PLC programming, modification and IO checking.
• Familiarity with Modbus/Profibus/Profinet/Ethernet/IP or equivalent is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced System Senior Technician / Engineer with strong hands‑on expertise in Variable Speed Drive (VSD) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system integration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, commissioning, maintenance, and technical support of industrial automation and control systems. The role requires strong practical knowledge of VSDs, PLCs, electrical control systems, industrial communication networks, and system integration.

Key Responsibilities

Perform installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of VSD, PLC, and industrial control systems.

Carry out system integration between PLCs, VSDs, motors, sensors, control panels, and other field devices.

Diagnose and rectify electrical, control, communication, and automation system faults.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation and control equipment.

Configure and troubleshoot VSD parameters, motor control functions, protection settings, and communication interfaces.

Support PLC programming, modification, testing, fault diagnosis, and system optimisation.

Conduct system testing and commissioning to ensure equipment operates according to technical and operational requirements.

Troubleshoot industrial communication networks and interfaces between automation devices.

Read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, wiring diagrams, I/O drawings, and technical documentation.

Provide technical support during system breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.

Prepare service reports, troubleshooting findings, maintenance records, and technical documentation.

Coordinate with customers, vendors, contractors, and internal engineering teams during installation, maintenance, and project execution.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with applicable safety procedures and engineering standards.

Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians where required.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.

Relevant working experience in industrial automation, electrical control systems, or system integration.

Strong hands‑on experience with VSD and PLC system integration is essential.

Good knowledge of VSD configuration, troubleshooting, commissioning, and motor control applications.

Experience in PLC troubleshooting, programming, modification, and I/O checking.

Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, or equivalent will be an advantage.

Ability to interpret electrical schematics, control panel drawings, and technical manuals.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Able to work independently and respond effectively to technical issues.

Willing to perform site‑based troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance activities when required.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Candidates with experience in industrial plants, ports, cranes, material handling systems, manufacturing, or heavy equipment automation will have an added advantage.

Preferred Technical Experience

Experience with any of the following will be advantageous:
