Job summary

Ecopia Sdn Bhd, a Malaysia-based event management and corporate travel services agency, seeks a seasoned Business Development Manager in Petaling Jaya. You will identify new business opportunities, lead pitches, and negotiate with clients and suppliers to deliver compelling event concepts.

You will build long-term relationships, coordinate with internal teams, and ensure profitability across campaigns. English is required; Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Events Management or related agency experience.
• Experience in corporate events such as live conferences, launches, galas, and incentive trips.
• Knowledge of Virtual and Webcast events is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• English proficiency is required; Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client portfolio.
• Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients and key decision-makers.
• Lead client pitches, presentations, negotiations, and proposal discussions.
• Understand client objectives, marketing goals, and event requirements.
• Curate creative event concepts, engagement strategies, and experiential solutions.
• Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and pitch materials.
• Source and collaborate with vendors, partners, venues, and suppliers.
• Develop project budgets, cost estimates, and profitability projections.
• Monitor project profitability and cost efficiency.
• Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions with clients and suppliers.
• Be the primary contact and trusted advisor for assigned clients.
• Retain, grow, and maximize revenue within existing accounts.
