Job summary

Qualified candidates will have a Civil Engineering or related degree, proven project management and leadership experience, and strong drawing-reading skills. CIDB/Safety certifications are a plus; travel to sites is expected.

About the role

GSR Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced and capable Site Supervisor/Site Engineer to join our dynamic construction team based in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role on our construction sites. You will be responsible for overseeing daily construction operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is pivotal in maintaining our reputation for excellence and delivering exceptional results for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all activities on the construction site, ensuring work is carried out in accordance with project plans, specifications and timelines
• Oversee quality control measures to ensure all work meets required standards and contractual specifications
• Manage site resources, including materials, equipment and tools, ensuring efficient allocation and maintenance
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide regular progress updates
• Prepare and maintain site documentation, including daily reports, inspection records and safety logs
• Identify and resolve on-site issues and challenges, demonstrating problem-solving skills and sound judgment

What we're looking for

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven experience in project management and team leadership
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to various project sites
• Professional certifications such as CIDB registration or Safety and Health Officer certification are advantageous
• Computer literacy with experience in construction management software and Microsoft Office applications
