Job summary

BMY RESOURCES SDN BHD in Johor Bahru is seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is pivotal for ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance across our construction sites, developing and maintaining safety programmes.

You will lead inspections, training, incident investigations and risk assessments, coordinate with project managers, and maintain safety records to support regulatory audits.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH or Malaysian safety diploma required
• Minimum 5 years' experience as Site Safety Supervisor in construction

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join BMY RESOURCES SDN BHD in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety and environmental compliance across our construction sites. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining comprehensive safety programmes that protect our workforce, safeguard our operations and ensure regulatory compliance. This role is fundamental to our commitment to creating a safe working environment and reducing workplace incidents on all our construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and non-compliance with safety standards
• Developing, implementing and updating site-specific safety plans, policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and industry best practices
• Providing safety training and induction programmes to all site personnel, including contractors and subcontractors
• Investigating workplace incidents, near misses and accidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions
• Monitoring compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and ensuring proper usage across all work areas
• Liaising with project managers, site supervisors and contractors to integrate safety considerations into daily operations
• Maintaining detailed safety records, accident reports and documentation required for regulatory compliance and audit purposes
• Conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings to reinforce safe working practices and promote a strong safety culture
• Reviewing and updating risk assessments for construction activities and recommending control measuresCoordinating with external safety auditors and regulatory authorities to ensure ongoing compliance

What we're looking for

• A recognised safety qualification or certification, such as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent, or a Malaysian safety diploma
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Safety Supervisor or in a similar health and safety role within the construction industry
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations, building codes and occupational safety standards
• Proven experience in developing and implementing site safety management systems and programmes
• Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment and control measures relevant to construction sites
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with site personnel at all levels
• Proficiency in incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action planning
• Competence in maintaining detailed safety documentation and producing accurate reports
• Physical ability to conduct regular site inspections and work in outdoor construction environments
• A proactive approach to safety promotion and commitment to fostering a positive safety culture
• Preferred experience in large-scale construction projects or infrastructure developments
