Job summary

UMECH CONSTRUCTION SDN.BHD. is seeking a Safety Site Supervisor to ensure compliance with safety regulations and to promote safe work practices at construction sites in Malaysia.

The role involves inspecting conditions, updating safety policies, and coordinating with DOSH and other authorities. The candidate should have a Diploma/Bachelor in Occupational Safety and Health, a DOSH safety site supervisor certificate (yellow book), and 3–5 years of relevant construction safety experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Occupational Safety and Health or a safety certificate from approved authorities.
• Certified as a safety site supervisor by DOSH and hold a yellow book.
• 3–5 years of experience in safety and health, especially in construction with infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the Act and regulations made thereunder.
• Inspect and rectify unsafe conditions at the construction site.
• Promote safe conduct of work within construction sites.
• Review and update safety policies and procedures as needed.
• Manage administration of legal documentation and monitor DOSH/DOE/CIDB compliance.
• Implement planned HSE programs and conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Identify and control hazards; maintain safe operations at the site.
• Engage with clients, consultants, subcontractors to resolve HSE issues.
• Assist in investigating accidents or safety incidents at the site.
• Receive safety reports from workers and act on concerns.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the superior.

Job description

As a Safety Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for :

Ensure that the provisions of the Act and any regulations made thereunder are complied with.

Inspect and rectify any unsafe conditions at the construction site.

To promote safe conduct of work generally within construction sites.

Conducts regular reviews of the company’s safety policies and initiates updates of procedures whenever necessary.

Manage the administration of legal documentation and monitor all jobs that comply with DOSH, DOE, CIDB, and related government bodies in accordance with their legal requirements and standards.

Implement planned HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) programs for the project, including weekly HSE meetings, weekly staff meetings, daily toolbox briefings, and others HSE initiatives to enhance safety awareness at the site

Identify and control hazards at the work site based on priority, and maintain safe operations.

Engage with clients, consultants, subcontractors, etc to address and resolve HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) issues at the construction site.

Assist the SHO (Safety Health Officer) to investigate any accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning, or occupational disease which has happened at the construction site.

Receive and act on reports regarding safety concerns from workers within the construction site/workplace.

Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the superior.

Requirements :

Candidates must possess at least Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Occupational safety and health or a safety certificate from approved authorities.

Certified as a safety site supervisor by DOSH and hold a yellow book.

3-5 years of experience in safety and health, particularly in a construction company with infrastructure projects.

Able to work in stressful environment and have sense of urgency to respond to all relevant parties within the stipulated time.

To work independently with integrity and commitment to assigned duties.
