Job summary

C.E.M.B. Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a responsible Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) and Safety Supervisor (SS) to oversee safety on construction sites in Penang.

You will implement safety procedures, conduct inspections, and ensure DOSH compliance while coordinating with regulators and project teams. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of construction safety supervision experience, holds a DOSH-recognised SSS certification or equivalent, and possesses relevant safety qualifications.

Qualifications

• SSS certification from DOSH or approved training provider.
• Diploma or degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
• First aid/CPR certification.
• 3–5 years of safety supervision experience on construction sites.
• Experience with construction high-risk activities.
• Familiar with construction equipment safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce site-specific safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and DOSH requirements.
• Manage PTW system and review JSA.
• Monitor PPE use and environmental controls (noise, dust, waste).
• Lead safety training, toolbox talks, orientations and safety campaigns.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records and audit findings.
• Develop and test Emergency Response Plan and conduct drills.
• Liaise with regulators and handle compliance reporting.
• Support project teams with safety input for high-risk activities.

Job description

We are looking for a responsible and proactive Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) and Safety Supervisor (SS) to oversee and ensure safety compliance at construction sites. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety procedures, conducting inspections, monitoring workers’ safety practices, and ensuring compliance with DOSH and site safety regulations.

What you'll be doing

Develop & enforcesite-specific safety policies and procedures.

Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance.

Ensure legal compliancewith local, state, and federal safety regulations.

Manage the Permit-to-Work (PTW)system and review Job Safety Analysis (JSA).

Monitor PPE useand environmental controls (noise, dust, waste).

Lead safety trainingincluding toolbox talks, orientations, and safety campaigns.

Investigate incidents(accidents, near misses) and implement corrective actions.

Maintain safety records(incident logs, permits, audit findings).

Develop & testthe Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and conduct drills.

Liaise with regulators(e.g., DOSH, CIDB) and handle compliance reporting.

Support project teamswith safety input for high-risk activities (lifting, hot work, confined space).

Travel to outstation sitesas needed and handle urgent duties outside normal hours.

What we're looking for
