Job summary

Qualifications

• Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.

HL Engineering and Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and proactive Site Safety Supervisor to join our team in Sepang, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our health, safety and environmental standards across all construction sites. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and fostering a strong safety culture amongst site personnel. This role is essential to protecting our workforce, maintaining operational efficiency and upholding our commitment to excellence in construction project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting regular site inspections and hazard assessments to identify potential risks and unsafe practices


• Developing, implementing and monitoring safety protocols and procedures across construction sites


• Providing comprehensive safety induction and training to all site personnel, contractors and visitors


• Investigating incidents, near-misses and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions


• Maintaining accurate safety records, documentation and reports in compliance with regulatory requirements


• Liaising with site management, project teams and external stakeholders to ensure safety objectives are met


• Conducting toolbox talks and safety meetings to reinforce safe working practices


• Ensuring proper use, maintenance and inspection of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment


• Monitoring compliance with environmental and waste management regulations on site


• Supporting the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in health, safety and environmental management

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Construction Management or a related field


• A minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in site safety supervision or a similar health and safety role within the construction industry


• Professional certifications such as DOSH, NIOSH or equivalent Malaysian safety qualifications


• Demonstrated knowledge of Malaysian safety regulations, standards and best practices including the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels


• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and develop effective safety strategies


• Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills with attention to detail


• Proficiency in using safety management systems and computer applications


• Physical capability to conduct regular site inspections and work in construction environments


• Strong leadership qualities with a commitment to promoting a positive safety culture
