Job summary

Woh Hup Group is seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join our construction team for a major Data Centre project in Selangor. You will oversee day-to-day site safety activities and ensure compliance with Malaysian OSH requirements, DOSH/JKKP, and the Main Contractor's HSE policies.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, site engineers, subcontractors, and workers to maintain a safe and compliant environment throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in construction site safety supervision.
• Experience with a Main Contractor is highly preferred.
• Data Centre, industrial, semiconductor, high-tech, commercial, or large-scale construction project experience is an advantage.
• Valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) certification recognised by DOSH/JKKP.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian OSH requirements and construction safety practices.
• Strong understanding of HIRARC, PTW, Method Statements, Toolbox Meetings, Safety Inspections, and Incident Reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily site safety activities across the construction project.
• Ensure compliance with DOSH/JKKP requirements, OSHA requirements, project HSE procedures, and Malaysian legislation.
• Conduct regular site inspections; identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards.
• Ensure risk assessments, HIRARC, SWP, Method Statements, and PTW systems are implemented.
• Monitor high-risk activities including lifting, working at height, hot works, confined spaces, excavation, electrical works, and heavy equipment.
• Conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety briefings, inductions, and site safety orientations.
• Monitor subcontractors; ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and prepare reports and corrective actions.
• Monitor PPE usage and site safety rule compliance.
• Coordinate safety inspections, audits, emergency drills, and safety campaigns.
• Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, permits, training records, and other HSE documentation.
• Stop unsafe work where necessary and escalate safety concerns to Site Safety Supervisor/Manager and Project Management.
• Liaise with project management, subcontractors, consultants, and authorities on safety matters.
• Support the implementation of the Emergency Response Plan and emergency preparedness activities.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture across the project site.

• Conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety briefings, inductions, and site safety orientations.
• Monitor subcontractors and ensure compliance with project safety requirements.

• Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure workers comply with site safety rules.

• Stop unsafe work where necessary and escape significant safety concerns to the Site Safety Supervisor/Manager and Project Management team.
• Liaise with project management, subcontractors, consultants, and relevant authorities on safety matters.
• Support the implementation of the project's Emergency Response Plan and emergency preparedness activities.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture across the project site.

Requirements

• Able to communicate effectively with workers, subcontractors, engineers, and project management.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Proactive, disciplined, and able to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Willing to be site-based in Selangor and work according to project requirements.
