Job summary

Alam Kotamas Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented and experienced Site Engineer to join our dynamic construction team in Sabah. Based in Kota Kinabalu, you will oversee on-site activities and coordinate project delivery to meet plans and specifications.

You will manage quality, safety and regulatory compliance, liaise with contractors and stakeholders, and provide technical guidance to the team. A bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and at least five years of site or construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Site Engineer or in a construction management role.
• Experience in construction project management, including planning, scheduling, cost control and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities to ensure alignment with plans and specifications.
• Monitor and manage quality through site inspections and QC measures.
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Prepare detailed progress reports and documentation to track project performance and compliance.
• Identify and propose solutions to optimise construction processes and improve efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

About the role

Alam Kotamas Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented and experienced Site Engineer to join our dynamic construction team. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of our construction projects in the Papar District of Sabah. This is a full-time position that will involve hands-on project management and technical oversight to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of our construction initiatives.

What you’ll be doing

• Overseeing and coordinating all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are executed as per the approved plans and specifications
• Monitoring and managing the quality of construction work, including conducting regular site inspections and implementing quality control measures
• Liaising with contractors, subcontractors and other stakeholders to address any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process
• Preparing detailed progress reports and documentation to track project performance and compliance
• Identifying and proposing solutions to optimise construction processes and improve efficiency
• Ensuring adherence to all relevant safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
• Providing technical support and guidance to the construction team as needed

What we’re looking for

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar construction management role
• Demonstrated expertise in construction project management, including planning, scheduling, cost control and quality assurance
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency in using construction management software and tools
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to project sites as required
