About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join Mega City Builder Sdn Bhd on a contract basis. This is a pivotal role that will play a crucial part in the successful delivery of our civil and structural engineering projects in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day engineering operations on site, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and within scheduled timelines. This position requires a proactive professional who can manage multiple stakeholders, coordinate with various teams, and maintain strict adherence to engineering specifications and regulatory requirements.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising and coordinating all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and engineering standards
• Conducting regular site inspections and quality control checks to verify that work meets design specifications and industry best practices
• Preparing and maintaining detailed site reports, progress documentation, and engineering records
• Liaising between the design team, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and effective problem-solving
• Monitoring and managing site safety protocols, ensuring all personnel adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures
• Coordinating material testing, inspections, and approvals from relevant authorities and regulatory bodies
• Resolving technical issues and design queries that arise during construction phases
• Maintaining accurate records of project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
• Conducting site meetings and preparing minutes to ensure all stakeholders remain informed of project progress and any concerns
• Supporting project managers in the identification and mitigation of risks and delays

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a Site Engineer on construction projects, preferably in civil or structural engineering sectors
• Professional registration or certification relevant to civil or structural engineering (such as Professional Engineer status or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering principles applicable to civil and structural works
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
• Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and site management practices
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment whilst managing multiple priorities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency in relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, project management software, or site documentation systems
• Experience with quality assurance and quality control procedures
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and site conditions
