Job summary

Boon Boon Builder Sdn Bhd is seeking a Site Engineer to join our growing team in Sibu, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the successful delivery of our civil and structural engineering projects. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role is instrumental in bridging the gap between design concepts and on-ground execution, making it essential to our operational success.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution
• Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies on construction sites
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets design specifications and contractual requirements
• Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily reports, progress records, material logs, and photographic evidence
• Manage and track project timelines, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective measures to maintain schedule adherence
• Liaise between the project management office and on-site teams to communicate design changes, variations, and technical requirements
• Assist in budget control by monitoring material usage, labour productivity, and project expenditure
• Conduct induction and toolbox talks to promote safety awareness amongst site personnel
• Prepare site progress reports and communicate updates to senior management
• Troubleshoot construction challenges and provide practical engineering solutions

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field, with relevant professional qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Site Engineer or similar position in civil or structural construction projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building materials, and structural design principles
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings
• Excellent understanding of safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements in construction
