Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join Tuah Bersatu Jaya Sdn Bhd in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution and quality delivery of civil and structural engineering projects on site. As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring that all construction activities comply with design specifications and regulatory requirements. This role is essential to the delivery of our projects and directly impacts the success of our engineering objectives.

Key responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate all construction activities on site, ensuring work progresses in accordance with project schedules and design specifications

Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality of workmanship and compliance with engineering drawings and specifications

Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress documentation, and material testing results

Liaise between the project management team, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and coordination

Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on site

Identify and address any site-related issues or deviations from plans, recommending corrective actions as necessary

Carry out site surveys and measurements to verify that construction is proceeding correctly

Prepare and maintain site documentation including method statements, risk assessments and quality assurance records

Collaborate with the design team to resolve technical issues and provide constructive feedback during construction

Monitor material deliveries and site logistics to optimise efficiency and minimise wastage

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised institution

Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience as a Site Engineer or similar role in civil and structural engineering projects

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes relevant to Malaysian regulations

Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents

Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and site management best practices

Competent use of site surveying equipment and construction software

Strong organisational and record-keeping skills with meticulous attention to detail

Excellent communication skills in English and Malay, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams

Problem-solving ability and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure

Professional Engineer (PE) registration or willingness to pursue such registration would be advantageous
