Job summary

Boon Boon Builder Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing team in Tanjung Manis, Sarawak. This full-time role focuses on planning, execution and delivery of construction and engineering projects, coordinating schedules, budgets and quality across multiple stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Bachelor's in Civil or Electrical Engineering with 1–3 years in project engineering or related fields, along with proficiency in project management software and MS

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in project engineering, construction management or related roles.
• Proficiency in project management software and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day project activities, including scheduling, resource allocation and progress monitoring
• Conduct site inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards and contractual requirements
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, drawings, specifications and as-built records
• Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors and relevant authorities to facilitate effective communication and problem resolution
• Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimise delays and cost overruns
• Support the project manager in budget management and cost control activities
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety protocols and environmental requirements throughout the project lifecycle
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals and tender documentation as required
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to optimise project outcomes

About the role

Boon Boon Builder Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Tanjung Manis, Sarawak. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful planning, execution and delivery of our construction and engineering projects. You will be responsible for coordinating various project aspects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets and quality standards whilst liaising with multiple stakeholders. This position is integral to our operational success and your contributions will directly impact the quality and efficiency of our projects.

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• 1–3 years of professional experience in project engineering, construction management or related roles
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methodologies and project management practices
• Proficiency in project management software and MS Office applications
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
• Professional memberships with relevant engineering bodies (such as PEM or BEM) are advantageous
