Job summary

BNQ ENGINEERING SDN BHD is seeking a dedicated Site Engineer for our Civil/Structural team in Bandar Sri Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan. The role oversees day-to-day site operations, ensures compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations, and coordinates between design teams, contractors, and site personnel.

We require 2–3 years of site engineering experience, a Civil/Structural degree, and strong reading of drawings. Competent in MS Office and project scheduling will be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• 2-3 years of site engineering experience in civil/structural projects.
• Solid knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and Malaysia regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of project management and construction scheduling.
• Excellent communication and team liaison skills.

About the role

BNQ ENGINEERING SDN BHD is seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Engineer to join our Civil/Structural Engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Bandar Sri Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. You will be responsible for coordinating between design teams, contractors, and site personnel, making this role integral to the successful delivery of our construction projects and the maintenance of our reputation for excellence.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise and monitor construction activities on site to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare comprehensive inspection reports documenting progress, issues, and recommendations
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to project schedules
• Review and approve construction methodologies and ensure safe working practices are maintained throughout the project
• Document all site activities, maintain records of labour, materials, and equipment usage, and prepare daily site reports
• Identify and address technical issues and deviations from design specifications, liaising with the design team for solutions
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies
• Assist in quality control testing and material verification to meet specified standards
• Manage site communications and coordinate meetings with project stakeholders
• Support project managers in budget tracking and cost control measures

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline from a recognised institution
• Minimum 2-3 years of site engineering experience in construction projects, preferably in civil or structural works
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety standards applicable in Malaysia
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
• Sound understanding of project management principles and construction scheduling
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse teams
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with construction management software is advantageous
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously on site
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to site locations as required
• Professional registration or willingness to pursue relevant professional qualifications is preferred
