Job summary

Valmet Co., Ltd. is seeking a Service Engineer PMC to support mill operations in Malaysia. You will follow up on mill performance with customer representatives and advise on optimizing operation of Valmet fabrics.

Responsibilities include fabric installation supervision, inventory management, and collaboration with sales managers. Required is a diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 5 years’ pulp and paper experience, with strong English and good teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Good command of English, both spoken and written.
• At least 5 years' experience in pulp & paper mill environment is advantageous.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in relevant engineering fields.

Responsibilities

• Follow up mill operations with customers and provide troubleshooting guidance.
• Support customers in improving operation of Valmet fabrics with advice and recommendations.
• Maintain clothing records and keep reports in ComPass.
• Monitor inventory and secure fabric stock at the mill with customers and sales teams.
• Attend shut downs/startups and visually inspect fabrics prior to installation.
• Supervise installation of Valmet fabrics into machines.
• Collaborate with sales and product managers to identify leads and provide technical solutions.
• Adhere to Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies and instructions.

Job description

Service Engineer PMC supporting mill operations in Malaysia. Participate in follow-up of mill operation in cooperation with customer representatives, and support customers in troubleshooting and improving operation regarding Valmet supplied fabrics by giving advice and recommendations.

Key responsibilities

Participate in follow-up of the mill operation in cooperation with customer representatives, and support customer in trouble shooting and improving the operation regarding Valmet supplied fabrics by giving advice and recommendation

Make clothing record of the clothing. All reports to be saved in ComPass

Follow up the inventory and secure sufficient stock of fabrics at the mill in cooperation with customer representatives and Valmet product sales manager/engineer

Attend every shut down/start up and visually inspect Valmet fabrics prior to installation to make sure the clothing is correct and worth installing

Supervise and monitor the installation of Valmet fabrics into machines

Work together with Valmet mill sales manager and product sales manager to identify sales leads and to provide technical support and solutions for customer

Perform according to Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and other company's management system, policies, practices and instructions

About you

Diploma in pulp and paper making or bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical engineering

At least 5 years' experience working with pulp & paper mill is an advantage

Good speaking and written English (Mandatory), and Chinese Mandarin is an advantage

Proficient in MS office

Customer oriented and service-minded and mature with good teamwork and organizing skills

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Experience with pulp/paper machine clothing inspection is advantage

Willingness to work at customer premises and to travel time to time to support other mills in India, other SEA countries

Pulp and paper process & trouble shooting from stock preparation until reel

FBR (PMC) Product knowledge (Forming Fabric, Press Felt, Black Belt, Dryer fabric)
