Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Senior Assistant Mill Manager to oversee the palm oil mill operations, driving performance and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires leadership in production, with a focus on achieving targets, optimizing processes and coordinating with maintenance and support teams to maintain high efficiency.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Palm Oil Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in palm oil mill operations, preferably in a supervisory/management role.
• Valid Steam Engineer / Steam Boiler competency certificate issued by DOSH/JKKP; Grade 1 preferred.
• Strong knowledge of palm oil milling processes, machinery and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee FFB receiving, processing and production operations.
• Monitor mill performance metrics (OER, KER, throughput, extraction, oil losses).
• Supervise production activities to meet targets and ensure safety and discipline.
• Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
• Ensure compliance with MPOB, DOE, DOSH and company safety standards.
• Prepare operational reports and monitor manpower planning and scheduling.

SENIOR ASSISTANT MILL MANAGER (Palm Oil)

About the role We are looking for an experienced and committed Senior Assistant Mill Manager to overseeing the overall operation and performance of our palm oil mill.

Key responsibilities

Ensure smooth and efficient FFB receiving, processing and production operations.

Monitor and improve mill performance, including OER, KER, throughput, extraction efficiency and oil losses.

Supervise production activities and ensure production targets are achieved.

Monitor the operation and performance of boiler, sterilizer, threshing, pressing, clarification, kernel recovery and other mill processes.

Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained and downtime is minimized.

Monitor the usage of water, steam, electricity, diesel and other operational resources.

Ensure compliance with MPOB requirements, DOE requirements, DOSH requirements, safety regulations and company policies.

Monitor workplace safety, housekeeping and environmental standards within the mill.

Lead, supervise and develop mill employees to maintain high standards of discipline and productivity.

Assist in manpower planning, work scheduling and performance monitoring.

Prepare and monitor operational reports, production statistics and other mill-related reports.

Identify operational problems and implement appropriate corrective and improvement measures.

Assist in achieving production, cost control, quality and profitability targets.

What we're looking for

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Palm Oil Technology or related field.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in palm oil mill operations, preferably with experience in a supervisory/management position.

Strong knowledge of palm oil milling processes, machinery and production operations.

Valid Steam Engineer / Steam Boiler competency certificate issued by DOSH/JKKP. Candidates with Grade 1 Steam Engineer / Steam Boiler competency certificate will be highly preferred.

Good understanding of OER, KER, oil losses, kernel recovery and mill performance indicators.

Experience in managing mill workers and coordinating with maintenance and production teams.

Good knowledge of occupational safety, environmental and statutory requirements.

Strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.

Able to work independently and make operational decisions when required.

Candidates who can communicate in multiple languages (Malay, English, Mandarin) are preferred.
