Job summary

PH World is seeking a Fitter to perform routine and breakdown maintenance on mill machinery. You will diagnose mechanical faults, replace worn components, and carry out corrective repairs in a busy workshop environment.

The role requires conducting regular inspections, lubrication, and basic fabrication work while adhering to safety regulations and reporting repair status to the supervisor. Opportunities exist for ongoing training and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Maintains and troubleshoots mill machinery and components.
• Follows safety procedures and uses PPE correctly.
• Records maintenance activities in logbooks and reports to supervisor.
• Maintains tools, shop area, and spare parts stock.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) as per plan.

• Lubrication of machinery and moving parts.
• Assist in shutdown maintenance activities.
• Carry out basic fabrication work (cutting, grinding, fitting).
• Assist in welding works.
• Install and align machinery and mechanical components.
• Modify equipment to improve performance or reliability.
• Identify root causes of mechanical failures.
• Propose improvements to reduce downtime and maintenance cost.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the mill.
• Follow all safety procedures and use PPE properly.
• Ensure tools and equipment are used safely.

• Ensure availability of spare parts and report shortages.
• Record maintenance activities in logbooks.
• Report breakdowns and repair status to supervisor.
• Assist in preparing maintenance reports.
• Follow Safety Procedure to avoid any accidents.
• Fully utilise MYPALM application in daily basis (To update preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance).
