Job summary

EDV Werke in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve cloud platform components. You will develop services and APIs using Java/Spring Boot, AWS, and Kubernetes, while driving automation and secure development practices.

The role requires 5+ years of software and cloud experience, with a focus on microservices, CI/CD, and DevSecOps. This on-site position offers a chance to mentor peers and shape engineering standards.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of software engineering, cloud engineering, API development, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or other public cloud platforms and cloud-native technologies.
• Java and Spring Boot or another modern programming language, with scripting skills.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and REST API design.
• Experience with publish/subscribe messaging patterns and event-driven systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, Terraform, EKS, or comparable DevOps and infrastructure automation tools.
• Experience applying AI technologies to improve SDLC processes.
• Understanding of cloud security, resilience, and operational best practices.

Tasks

• Technical Ownership - Shape technical direction, improve solution designs, and take end-to-end ownership of platform components from development to operation
• Cloud Platform Development - Build platform services, APIs, automation, and backend components using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Kubernetes
• Infrastructure Automation - Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code modules and automated deployment workflows for cloud environments
• Performance & Reliability - Optimize system performance, scalability, and resilience through robust design, testing, and reliability engineering practices
• Deployment & Support - Execute controlled deployments, prepare rollback plans, and provide advanced third-level technical support
• Engineering Quality - Apply secure coding practices, lead code reviews and refactoring, and maintain high standards for testing, observability, and documentation
• DevSecOps Improvement - Strengthen DevSecOps practices, address technical debt, and improve software development lifecycle processes using modern technologies, including AI

Must-Have Skills
