Job summary

EDV Werke in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve cloud platform components. You will develop services and APIs using Java/Spring Boot, AWS, and Kubernetes, while driving automation and secure development practices.

The role requires 5+ years of software and cloud experience, with a focus on microservices, CI/CD, and DevSecOps. This on-site position offers a chance to mentor peers and shape engineering standards.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of software engineering, cloud engineering, API development, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or other public cloud platforms and cloud-native technologies.
• Java and Spring Boot or another modern programming language, with scripting skills.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and REST API design.
• Experience with publish/subscribe messaging patterns and event-driven systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, Terraform, EKS, or comparable DevOps and infrastructure automation tools.
• Experience applying AI technologies to improve SDLC processes.
• Understanding of cloud security, resilience, and operational best practices.

Responsibilities

• Technical Ownership — Shape technical direction and end-to-end ownership of platform components.
• Cloud Platform Development — Build platform services, APIs, automation using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure Automation — Develop and maintain IaC modules and automated deployment workflows.
• Performance & Reliability — Optimize system performance, scalability and reliability.
• Deployment & Support — Manage controlled deployments and advanced technical support.
• Engineering Quality — Enforce secure coding, code reviews, testing, observability and documentation.
• DevSecOps Improvement — Strengthen DevSecOps, reduce tech debt, evolve processes with AI.
• Collaboration & Mentoring — Mentor developers and promote engineering standards.
