Job summary

J&T Express (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Procurement Executive to lead land, sea and air transport procurement activities and related projects. You will communicate requirements with internal stakeholders, perform market research, run tenders, and negotiate favorable terms.

You will evaluate suppliers on price, capacity and delivery performance, coordinate contract signing, and monitor ongoing service delivery, collaborating with multiple departments to ensure value and compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Business Administration (preferred).
• 1–3 years of experience in logistics transportation, freight forwarding, supply chain, or procurement; fresh graduates encouraged.
• Knowledge of pricing structures and charges in land, sea, and air transportation is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement for land, sea, and air transportation projects and other major procurement tasks.
• Communicate project requirements with internal stakeholders: routes, cargo volume, service scope, timelines, budget.
• Conduct market research, supplier sourcing, quotation requests, tendering, bid analysis, and negotiations.
• Evaluate suppliers on pricing, capacity, service, delivery, compliance, and contingencies; prepare awards docs.
• Coordinate with departments and suppliers to sign contracts, initiate projects, and execute services.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues like delays, capacity shortages, and cargo problems.
• Manage freight rate changes, new routes, expansions, and service modifications; request quotes and analyze costs.
• Conduct regular supplier performance assessments and drive corrective actions or supplier tiering.
• Maintain procurement records: tenders, contracts, quotations, supplier files, evaluations.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and management directives.

Job description

Lead procurement activities for land, sea, and air transportation projects, and participate in other major procurement projects as assigned by the department.

Communicate with internal stakeholders to confirm project requirements, including transport routes, estimated cargo volume, service scope, delivery timelines, and budget.

Conduct market research, supplier sourcing, qualification review, quotation requests, tendering, bid analysis, and commercial negotiations.

Evaluate suppliers comprehensively on pricing, transport capacity, service solutions, delivery performance, compliance, and contingency capabilities, and prepare evaluation and award documentation.

Coordinate with relevant departments and suppliers to facilitate contract signing, project initiation, and service execution.

Monitor supplier performance and coordinate resolution of service issues such as transport delays, capacity shortages, cargo irregularities, and other operational challenges.

Manage freight rate adjustments, new route development, project expansions, and service modifications, including quotation requests, cost analysis, and approval follow-up.

Conduct regular supplier performance assessments and drive corrective actions, supplier tiering, or elimination based on results.

Maintain procurement documentation including tenders, contracts, quotations, supplier records, and performance evaluations.

Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and complete other tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Business Administration (preferred).

1–3 years of experience in logistics transportation, freight forwarding, supply chain, or procurement; outstanding fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Knowledge of basic processes, pricing structures, and related charges in land, sea, and air transportation is an advantage.

Strong skills in market research, data analysis, tendering and bid management, business negotiation, communication, coordination, and problem-solving.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Ability to independently manage multiple tasks, with willingness to travel and conduct supplier site visits.

Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, teamwork, and resilience under pressure.
