Job summary

IMR (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. in Penang seeks a Purchasing Executive to manage procurement of molds, packaging, hardware, plastics, and related items, ensuring timely deliveries and accurate records.

You will coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Finance, maintain the Approved Supplier List, and drive supplier quality improvements while communicating feedback to QA. Mandarin fluency is required to interact with Mandarin-speaking counterparts.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in any field required.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing or procurement management.
• Experience procuring raw materials and components for plastic and molds.
• Proficient in office software, ERP systems and SAP.
• Ability to oversee the entire supply chain and identify better solutions.
• Strong market analysis and judgement capabilities.
• Mandarin fluency is a must for Mandarin-speaking counterpart.

Responsibilities

• Procure molds, packaging materials, hardware, plastic raw materials, stationery, and consumables.
• Create purchase and return documents upon material receipt and perform month-end reconciliation.
• Ensure PO requirements and delivery deadlines are met; control pricing, timing, and quantity.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams to evaluate suppliers and update the Approved Supplier List.
• Track supplier quality improvements and communicate feedback to Quality Control.
• Coordinate sample evaluations and return results to suppliers the same day.
• Work with PMC to ensure timely raw material procurement for production and provide daily delivery reports.
• Monitor key materials and resolve material exceptions promptly.
• Supervise order follow-up staff and support Finance with account reconciliation.
• Report to the Dept. Supervisor and handle temporary tasks as assigned.
