Job summary

Private Advertiser seeks an experienced purchasing professional to manage supplier sourcing, quotations, and contract execution in Malaysia. You will input and release POs in ERP, expedite orders, and work with quality, engineering, warehouse, production, and finance to optimize inventory while building a local supplier base.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing experience; chemical industry is a plus.
• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Familiar with MRO market/supply source in Malaysia.
• Strong communication, negotiation and sourcing skills; MS Office and ERP proficiency.
• Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin speakers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Request for quotation from project team and negotiate with suppliers.

• Enforce IP/business confidentiality via Need-to-Know principle.
• Achieve related work designated by the purchase manager.

Job description

Request for quotation based on purchase request from project team, production department, warehouse, negotiate with the suppliers.

Initiate contract /agreement.

Input PO in ERP and release PO；

Expedite the PO implementation.

Cooperate with quality department, engineering department to resolve the quality issue of material provided by the supplier.

Work with warehouse/production/finance to optimize inventory (e.g., reduce dead stock).

Source and develop new potential supplier (in local Malaysia or overseas if necessary);

Build approved vendor list in Malaysia.

Follow up the supplier delivery on-time, service aftersales, and work with cross-function department on site conducting supplier performance appraisal periodically.

Adhere to Malaysian Contract Act, Competition Act, and company compliance policies.

Document the files of purchase including RFQ, PO, and Contract etc. complying to SOP on-site.

Execute seal control, procurement contracts archiving (physical/digital) and audit-trail logs.

Enforce IP/business information confidentiality via "Need-to-Know" principle.

Achieve related work designated by the purchase manager/supervisor.

Requirements

Familiar with MRO market/supply source in Malysia.

Knowledge of mechanical /electrical /hardware commodities, understanding purchase process.

Good at communication, negotiation, sourcing. MS Office, ERP.

Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential. Candidates with Mandarin language skills will be given priority/preference to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

3+ years working experience in purchasing; chemical industry field is plus.

Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related major.
