Job summary

Maybank is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to drive product vision, translate business requirements into technical specs and ensure successful delivery of digital products and system enhancements.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, UX designers, engineering teams and QA to define roadmaps, manage backlogs, refine requirements and support agile delivery, governance and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or Functional Solution Analyst.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product management practices.
• Experience in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Ability to translate requirements into techno-functional solution options with analysis of options and trade-offs.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with stakeholder management.
• Experience using product and project tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Miro, Figma).

Job description

Drive product vision, gather and translate business requirements and ensure successful delivery of digital products and system enhancements. Work closely with business stakeholders, UX designers, engineering teams, and QA to define product roadmaps, manage backlogs, and ensure solutions meet business goals, customer needs, and regulatory expectations.

Product Ownership:

• Translate requirements into techno-functional solution options with pros and cons, feasibility, potential complexity, approaches for each option.
• Define product vision, objectives and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders and technical team. Gauge technical complexities, technical challenges and timelines for solutions to drive this.
• Translate product strategies into clear, actionable requirements and features while having the know-how of technical solution options that are feasible to the technical team and aligned with business stakeholders.
• Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is prioritized, refined and aligned with business and customer value plus product roadmap while being conscious of the relevant technical complexities of the backlog and its deliverables.
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring clarity of scope and business priorities.

Business Analysis & Requirements:

• Gather, analyze and document business requirements, functional specifications and user stories. Transpose them into techno-functional solution options to stakeholders (technical and business) via PPT solution decks, FSDs, DFDs, ERDs, Architecture Diagrams etc.
• Conduct requirement & solution workshops, interviews, journey mapping and process analysis with stakeholders with a view to having an outcome of the detailed solution options, pros and cons/feasibility/complexities for each option and recommendation from tech.
• Prepare detailed acceptance criteria and ensure testability of all requirements. Having the techno-functional nous to prioritize which acceptance criteria supersedes which to be able to drive milestones.
• Work with UX/UI teams to refine wireframes, prototypes and workflows.

Stakeholder Management:

• Act as the first touchpoint for business stakeholders in gauging solution options to their requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison between business teams, technology teams and other partners with the ability to gauge deliverables against solution options.
• Communicate product updates, timelines, and impacts to stakeholders at all levels.
• Facilitate alignment across departments to ensure smooth delivery and adoption.

Delivery & Quality Assurance:

• Produce excellent quality documents that include solution and architecture decks, FSD, DFD, Process Flows, API field mapping (backend and UI), UI/UX/CX screen design.
• Support development teams throughout the build and testing phases.
• Review functional test results and ensure solutions meet business needs and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in SIT & UAT planning and defect triage.
• Oversee release planning and ensure readiness for deployment.
• Analyze product performance, customer feedback and operational metrics to drive enhancements.
• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Contribute to product strategy, roadmap planning and long‑term capability development.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or Functional Solution Analyst.
• Ability to immediately access and interpret requirements into initial solution options for initial gauge of build impact analysis.
• Ability to proactively decide what is to be done next when faced with new requirements/technical challenges/changed requirements/defects and its impact to the product build and deliverables.
• Above average understanding of core and fundamental tech stacks (frontend, backend, database, integration patterns, architecture principles) and ability to relate its capabilities to required solution for requirements.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product management practices.
• Experience in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using product and project tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Miro, Figma).
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams in fast‑paced environments.
• Experience in digital transformation, customer onboarding, digital onboarding, KYC/AML processes or workflow‑based systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of UX/UI frameworks and customer journey mapping.
• Familiarity with API‑based systems, microservices and modern application architectures.
• Experience in data modelling, reporting requirements or analytics is desired.
• Strong business acumen and customer‑centered thinking.
• Ability to drive clarity and alignment across diverse stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented, structured, and strong in problem‑solving.
