Job summary

Puncak AI in Petaling Jaya is seeking a seasoned Solution Analyst to translate business needs into clear requirements and functional specifications. You will run requirement workshops, document process flows, and support Agile delivery with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience in business/systems analysis, along with strong documentation skills and familiarity with Jira/Confluence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or related discipline.
• 5–10 years as Solution/Business Analyst or similar role.
• Experience in end-to-end software delivery and UAT support.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Visio or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Engage stakeholders to gather, analyse, validate and document requirements.
• Translate needs into BRD, FSD, user stories and use cases.
• Prepare BRD/FSD, workflow diagrams and test scenarios.
• Coordinate with architects, developers and PMs on solutions.
• Support Agile/hybrid delivery including backlog refinement and planning.
• Lead UAT and coordinate defect tracking with the team.
• Contribute to documentation standards and templates.

Job description

• Engage business users, clients and internal stakeholders to gather, analyse, validate and document business requirements, objectives, workflows and pain points.
• Conduct requirement workshops, interviews and discussions to understand current processes, identify gaps and define improvement opportunities.
• Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, non-functional requirements, user stories, use cases, process flows and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare and maintain Business Requirement Documents, Functional Specification Documents, solution notes, workflow diagrams, data flow diagrams and related project documentation.
• Work with Solution Architects, Developers, UI/UX Designers, Project Managers and Product Owners to design practical, scalable and user-friendly application solutions.
• Assess solution feasibility by considering business priorities, user impact, technical constraints, integration requirements, data needs and project scope.
• Support Agile or hybrid delivery activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, requirement prioritisation, clarification sessions and change request assessment.
• Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood, traceable and implemented according to agreed expectations.
• Develop and review test scenarios, test cases and UAT scripts to ensure delivered functionality meets approved requirements and business outcomes.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing with business users, document defects or enhancement requests, and support issue resolution with the project team.
• Support deployment planning, production rollout, user training preparation and post-implementation review where required.
• Present requirements, solution options, risks, dependencies and project updates clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal templates, delivery standards, documentation practices and business analysis methodologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Information Systems, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 5 to 10 years of experience as a Solution Analyst, Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, Product Analyst or similar role within software development, digital product delivery or systems implementation.
• Hands-on experience in end-to-end application delivery, including requirement gathering, solution documentation, UAT support and implementation coordination.
• Strong capability in preparing BRD, FSD, user stories, use cases, process flows, workflow diagrams, test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Experience working with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, Draw.io, Figma, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 or similar documentation and collaboration tools.
• Basic understanding of databases, APIs, system integrations, cloud-based applications and software testing practices is an advantage.
