Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Berhad is seeking a highly organized Senior Executive, Logistics to oversee day-to-day shipping operations, ensuring shipments are monitored efficiently and cost‑effectively.

You will coordinate bookings, negotiate rates, track shipments, and liaise with internal teams and external partners to resolve bottlenecks while ensuring compliance with trade regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years in logistics, shipping operations, or freight forwarding.
• Strong understanding of shipping docs (BC/CRL/B/L), Incoterms and global freight processes.

Responsibilities

• Place and manage shipment bookings with freight forwarders and carriers.
• Verify BC and CRL to ensure smooth operations.
• Coordinate daily cargo loading at warehouse or port.
• Negotiate ocean freight rates for cost-effective options.
• Track shipments and provide transit updates to teams.
• Liaise with internal and external partners to resolve bottlenecks.
• Address delays, missing docs, damage or customs holds promptly.
• Maintain accurate logistics records and ensure compliance.

Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Executive, Logistics to join our dynamic supply chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing our day-to-day shipping operations, ensuring that all shipment and cargo is monitored efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key responsibilities

Place and manage shipment bookings with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transport providers according to delivery schedules.

Follow up on, obtain, and verify Booking Confirmations (BC) and Cargo Release Letters / Cargo Receipt Letters (CRL) to ensure seamless operations.

Monitor and coordinate daily cargo loading activities at the warehouse or port to ensure cargo is loaded accurately, safely, and dispatched on time.

Request, compare, and negotiate ocean freight rates to secure the most cost-effective and reliable shipping options.

Track and trace outgoing and incoming shipments, providing proactive updates on transit statuses to the teams.

Liaise continuously with internal teams (Warehouse, Sales, Production) and external partners (Customs Brokers, Hauliers, Shipping Agents) to resolve any logistical bottlenecks.

Promptly address and resolve any shipping issues, such as delays, missing documentation, cargo damage, or customs holds.

Maintain accurate logistics records and ensure all shipping practices comply with local and international trade regulations.

Other project involvement and assignment as and when required.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

At least 5 years of proven experience in logistics, shipping operations, or freight forwarding.

Strong understanding of shipping documentation (BC, CRL, B/L), Incoterms, and international freight processes (Ocean/Air).

Excellent negotiation skills for securing competitive freight rates.

Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple shipments simultaneously.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiar with logistics/ERP software.

Detail-oriented, proactive, capable of working well under pressure, and possessing strong problem-solving skills.
