Overview

SAP QA Consultant with focus on SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP testing. The role supports a transformation from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA with SAP BTP integration, including testing of SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP services, and custom developments to ensure high quality and seamless implementation. The candidate will lead testing strategy and execution across functional and technical testing for SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and related applications.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Test Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and implement the testing strategy for SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP services, applications, and custom developments, aligning with project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Define comprehensive test plans for unit, integration, user acceptance, regression, and other testing phases across SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP modules.
  • Coordinate with functional and technical teams to create detailed test scripts, scenarios, and cases based on business requirements and system configurations.
  • Ensure testing activities align with the client’s transformation roadmap and timelines.
• Test Execution and Management:
  • Lead the execution of functional, integration, regression, and performance testing for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP applications and services.
  • Ensure end-to-end testing of SAP S/4HANA modules (Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, etc.), SAP BTP services, custom developments, and Fiori applications.
  • Verify test coverage by testing business processes across SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP and validating integrations with third-party systems.
  • Provide regular updates on test progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
• Quality Assurance and Issue Resolution:
  • Identify defects early and manage resolution to ensure solution quality.
  • Perform root cause analysis and coordinate with development teams for timely fixes.
  • Lead defect triage meetings and ensure issues are tracked, prioritized, and resolved.
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure fixes do not affect existing functionalities or integrations.
• Test Automation Strategy:
  • Develop and implement test automation strategies for SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and custom developments where applicable.
  • Collaborate with automation engineers to define scripts and tools to increase testing efficiency.
  • Implement test automation tools (e.g., SAP Solution Manager, Selenium) to support continuous testing and faster release cycles.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders:
  • Work with business stakeholders, project managers, functional consultants, and technical teams to ensure test cases reflect business processes.
  • Facilitate test case reviews to cover all requirements and configurations.
  • Coordinate with development teams to ensure proper testing of custom developments per specifications.
• Test Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare test status reports, defect logs, and test summary reports for stakeholders.
  • Provide updates on testing progress and risks, ensuring traceability of testing activities.
  • Document test results and related activities to support knowledge transfer and compliance with quality standards.
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support:
  • Coordinate UAT activities with business users and guide participants on test cases and issue documentation.
  • Ensure successful UAT sign-off by business users, confirming that SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP solutions meet business requirements.
• Performance and Load Testing:
  • Lead performance and load testing to ensure systems handle peak loads and perform under stress.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and SAP technical teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Ensure scalability and response times meet requirements.
• Test Environment Setup and Management:
  • Ensure proper test environments are available and aligned with production environments.
  • Manage configuration and deployment of test environments and ensure required tools and integrations are available for testing.
  • Monitor environments and address issues affecting testing activities.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies; stay updated on SAP technologies and best practices.

Required Experience, Qualification and Certifications

• Professional Experience:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years in SAP testing, with at least 5 years focused on SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP.
  • Experience leading testing teams on large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementations and transformations.
  • Extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA functional modules (Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, etc.) and SAP BTP services.
  • Expertise in manual and automated testing practices for SAP solutions, including tools like SAP Solution Manager and Selenium.
  • Experience with integration testing between SAP S/4HANA and third-party systems.
• Educational Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • SAP certifications in relevant areas (S/4HANA, BTP, Cloud applications) or testing methodologies (e.g., ISTQB) are desirable.
• Technical Skills:
  • Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and module functionality.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP BTP services (e.g., SAP Integration Suite, SAP Business Application Studio, SAP Fiori).
  • Proficiency in SAP testing tools (SAP Solution Manager, eCATT, Test Automation frameworks).
  • Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA custom developments (ABAP, Fiori, cloud apps).
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner or JMeter.
• Methodology and Process:
  • Solid understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies for SAP testing.
  • Experience in developing and executing test scripts, test cases, and managing test environments for large projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in aviation-related SAP solutions or heavy industry-specific processes.
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing approaches and hybrid cloud environments (on-premise and cloud).
