Job Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive business growth and achieve the Company’s sales and revenue targets. The position will focus on developing new business opportunities and maintaining existing customer relationships within the construction, industrial, insulation, HVAC, cold room, clean room and related sectors.
The Sales Manager will also lead and coordinate the sales team, identify potential projects and customers, manage key accounts, prepare commercial proposals and work closely with the technical, production and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Develop and implement effective sales and business development strategies to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- 2. Identify and develop new business opportunities for the Company’s products and services, including:
- * Polyurethane (PU) pre-insulated piping systems;
- * PU insulated panels;
- * Cold room and clean room systems;
- * PU spray foam systems and site applications;
- * Rigid polyurethane foam products;
- * Air-conditioning and HVAC-related components; and
- * Other insulation products and solutions offered by the Company.
- 1. Develop business relationships with contractors, M&E contractors, consultants, developers, project owners, manufacturers, distributors and other potential customers.
- 2. Manage and maintain strong relationships with existing key customers to encourage repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- 3. Identify upcoming projects, tenders and market opportunities relevant to the Company’s products and services.
- 4. Lead the preparation of quotations, proposals, tender submissions and commercial negotiations with customers.
- 5. Conduct customer visits, presentations, product briefings and meetings to understand project requirements and propose suitable solutions.
- 6. Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, delivery requirements and contractual conditions within the Company’s approved policies.
- 7. Lead, supervise and monitor the performance of Sales Engineers, Sales Executives and other members of the sales team.
- 8. Establish individual and departmental sales targets and monitor sales performance against agreed KPIs.
- 9. Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, customer database, project tracking records and sales forecasts.
- 10. Work closely with the Technical, Production, Purchasing, Logistics and Operations departments to ensure customer and project requirements are properly communicated and fulfilled.
- 11. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing and developments within the insulation, construction, HVAC and industrial sectors.
- 12. Follow up on quotations, purchase orders, project progress, delivery schedules and customer payments where necessary.
- 13. Handle customer concerns and commercial issues professionally and coordinate internally for timely resolution.
- 14. Prepare weekly/monthly sales reports, forecasts and business development updates for Management.
- 15. Represent the Company at customer meetings, exhibitions, trade events, site visits and other business-related activities when required.
- 16. Perform any other sales, marketing or business development duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
- * Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or related field.
- * Preferably 5 years or more of relevant sales/business development experience, with experience in construction, industrial products, insulation, HVAC, M&E or building materials being an advantage.
- * Experience managing a sales team and key accounts is preferred.
- * Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
- * Good commercial awareness and ability to understand technical products.
- * Able to prepare quotations, sales forecasts and management reports.
- * Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- * Possess own transport and willing to travel for customer meetings and site visits.
