Job summary

Insafoam Insulation (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Sales Engineer to promote and sell its polyurethane insulation products and related solutions. The role combines engineering knowledge with sales and customer relationship management to understand customer requirements and prepare quotations and proposals.

The successful candidate will visit sites and consultants, coordinate with internal teams, and drive inquiries through to order delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in mechanical/chemical/civil/building services or related technical discipline.
• Fresh graduates considered for junior positions; 1–3 years of technical sales preferred.
• Experience in insulation, polyurethane products, HVAC, piping, M&E or industrial products is an advantage.
• Able to understand technical specifications and drawings.
• Good interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willing to travel to customer premises and project sites.

Job Summary

The Sales Engineer is responsible for promoting and selling the Company’s technical products and solutions by combining engineering/technical knowledge with sales and customer relationship management.

The position requires the candidate to understand customers’ technical and project requirements, recommend suitable products and solutions, prepare quotations and technical proposals, conduct site/customer visits and follow up on projects from enquiry through order confirmation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Promote and sell the Company’s range of products and services, particularly:
   • Polyurethane (PU) pre-insulated pipes and piping systems;
   • PU insulated panels;
   • Cold room and clean room solutions;
   • PU spray foam systems and applications;
   • Rigid polyurethane foam products;
   • HVAC and air-conditioning components; and
   • Other insulation-related products and solutions.
2. Identify and develop new customers and project opportunities within construction, M&E, HVAC, industrial and related markets.
3. Visit customers, project sites, consultants and contractors to understand technical and commercial requirements.
4. Provide technical advice and recommend suitable products or solutions based on customer/project requirements.
5. Study customer enquiries, drawings, specifications, bills of quantities (BOQ) and other relevant project documentation where applicable.
6. Prepare quotations, technical proposals, product submissions and other sales documentation.
7. Follow up actively on enquiries and quotations until order confirmation.
8. Conduct product presentations and technical discussions with customers, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
9. Liaise with the Production, Technical, Purchasing, Logistics and Operations teams regarding product specifications, availability, production schedules and delivery requirements.
10. Coordinate technical clarification and ensure customer requirements are properly communicated internally.
11. Attend site meetings, inspections, measurements or technical discussions when required.
12. Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing and potential customers.
13. Monitor project progress and identify opportunities for additional products or services.
14. Assist in tender preparation and project submissions.
15. Maintain proper records of customer enquiries, quotations, orders, project status and follow-up activities.
16. Prepare weekly/monthly sales and project pipeline reports for the Sales Manager and Management.
17. Monitor market developments and competitor products and provide relevant market feedback to Management.
18. Assist in resolving technical or commercial issues raised by customers.
19. Achieve individual sales targets and KPIs established by Management.
20. Perform any other duties related to sales, technical support or business development as assigned by the Sales Manager or Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering or other relevant engineering/technical discipline.
• Fresh graduates with good communication and technical aptitude may be considered for junior positions; 1–3 years of technical sales experience is preferred.
• Experience in insulation, polyurethane products, HVAC, piping, M&E, construction or industrial products will be an advantage.
• Able to understand technical specifications and drawings.
• Good interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently as well as within a team.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Possess own transport and willing to travel to customer premises and project sites.
