Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Malaysia is seeking a Regional Accounting Governance & Controls Specialist to strengthen financial governance across the APAC region. You will partner with stakeholders in markets to enhance internal controls, promote consistent accounting practices, and manage financial risks.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA, etc) required.
• 3+ years experience with Big 4 audit firm and/or multinational finance organization.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and internal controls governance.
• Experience in controls testing, audit coordination, remediation, and risk assessment.
• Strong analytical, numeric, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to collaborate across APAC and across countries and functions.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support internal and external audit activities, including control assessments, deficiency remediation, and follow-up actions across APAC entities.
• Drive collaboration between the Global Service Center (GSC) and country finance teams to resolve accounting, control, and reporting issues.
• Strengthen balance sheet governance and internal control frameworks through standardization, process improvements, and best practice implementation.
• Support Month-End Close (MEC) and period-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Perform analytical reviews of financial data to identify anomalies, control gaps, and root causes of accounting issues.
• Support regional governance initiatives and promote compliance with IFRS requirements.
• Partner with finance stakeholders across APAC to drive continuous improvement, standardization, and operational excellence.
