Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is seeking an experienced General Ledger & Accounting Governance leader. You will drive standardization, governance, and accuracy across regional accounting processes and ERP environments, ensuring compliance with US GAAP/IFRS and internal controls while aligning with global reporting requirements.

You will lead a team responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments, while partnering with BPOs and global RTR

Qualifications

Minimum BA/BS Degree in Accounting.
Minimum 8-10 years of supervisory experience, managing other countries/regions a plus.
Strong technical accounting standards knowledge – US GAAP and/or IFRS.
Experience in a regional or global shared service environment.

Responsibilities

Lead general ledger governance across ERP environments and regions.
Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls across regions.
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Supervise accruals, prepayments, and amortization schedules.
Coordinate US GAAP/regional reporting and statutory/tax reporting.
Governance of BPO service delivery, KPIs, and escalations.
Champion SOX compliance and internal controls across R&A teams.
Provide cross-functional accounting guidance to leadership.
Drive process standardization and automation across regions.
